Tools Used
Introduction
Gain useful understanding of the target users by consolidating and reviewing everything that we already know about the target users.
This is accomplished by reviewing:
Market Research, Customer segmentation, User feedback, Service teams. To gain more primary insight from users, the team conducted:
Online surveys were conducted for beta testers to gain feedback by using Survey Monkey.
User interviews were then conducted with parents, students, and workshop leaders to better understand how each user interacted with the page.
Ethnographic research was then conducted by observing users on a Zoom call as they used the beta experience.
What is the problem
During the pandemic, parents struggled to keep their kids entertained while they worked from home. Instead of throwing on a random YouTube video, they would look for ways for their child to learn a new skill.
Screen Play for Kids is a platform for elementary students to have fun and learn from the comfort of their homes. They provide fun and valuable virtual experiences via arts-focused online workshops. My task was to create a simple child-themed website experience for parents to schedule group and one-on-one workshops.

Website flow
Designing this project, I had many variables to consider. One of the first challenges that I had was the technical skill level of the development team. In the first iteration of the website flow, the chart had 43 different tabs that needed to be designed, including a booking and payment system that at the beginning was to be built in-house.
Upon evaluating the skill level involved in designing the experience, it became apparent that we needed another solution for the booking system. Hiring a new software engineer would be outside of the project's budget. After many hours of research, we negotiated a deal with a software development company to license their booking software.
